Rafsanjan Industrial Complex Islamic Cooperative Co.

was founded in 1981, aiming at the manufacturing of industrial and agricultural products. Having attracted investments from the agricultural sectorand channelingthem towards industrial productions, in a cooperative structure, our complex has played a major role in technological development and cooperative management in Iran.

RIC first commenced activity by establishing pistachio farming sector and an animal and poultry feed factory. Then, through channeling public investments and the profits from production activities, in 1982 R.I.C undertook the construction of our Particleboard factory from pistachio twigs, with a production capacity of 22,000 cubic meters, as well the Clay Brick factory, both put to operation in mid 1986. Within the interval between openings of the mentioned factory, by 1985, the preparations for purchase, installation, and commissioning of Moquette Manufacturing factory were made. As one of the progressive and successful companies in Rafsanjan, and after investing in the three plants mentioned above, Rafsanjan Industrial Complex managed to maintain its manufacturing and industrial activity creating added value for the shareholders as well as furthering national development.

Subsequently, Rafsanjan Industrial Complex took its first steps of appearing at national telecommunications industry, by involving in installation and establishment of rural automatic phone centers, in near and far villages of Rafsanjan. This crusader-like activity led to the rapid development of rural telecommunication centers in Rafsanjan. It was not until 1990 when we first made a decision of a more serious involvement in national telecommunications industry, and established the massive factory of Copper Telecom Cables. Benefiting from the opinions of expert advisors in this area and the conducted investigations, we decided to purchase a factory from one of the world’s leading cable production brands, the Finnish Nokia-Millefer Co, in the early 1990s.Before long, in 1992, this factory was put into operation, with a production capacity of 10 thousand tons of a wide range of copper telecom cables, from 1 to 2400 pairs, for buried, conduit, aerial, residential, and special applications. Considering the limited number of factories manufacturing telecom cables, this product used to be imported from abroad, therefore, establishment of this factory was a huge advancement in Iranian telecommunication industry, and of course brought along much added value for our shareholders, and helped us achieve numerous national awards and titles, including Leading National Cooperative, in the course of these past years.

A few years later, Rafsanjan Industrial Complex embarked upon up-dating its industry and, in 2001, established a Fiber-Optic Cable Factory, from a well-known fiber optic cable machinery maker, Nextrom (Finnish Company) and owing to the extremely good performance of Nokia-Millefer machinery. As a result of high automation and decreased sizes of the machinery, this new company was operationalized in less than two years, in 2002, with a production capacity of 600 thousand kilometers of fiber-optic and converted them into a wide range of cables, at 24 thousand kilometers of fiber-optic cables, and also, a variety of 1 to 288-strand fiber-optic cables with loose tube structure for buried, conduit, aerial, residential, and special applications. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and advanced automation, this company managed to carrya great share of Iran’s requirement of fiber-optic production, and play an even greater role in national development.

To play a more effective role than before in Iranian telecommunication industry, having concluded a contract with Telecommunication Companyof Iran, in 2003, Rafsanjan Industrial Complex created the first ever Iranian prepaid SIM card operator, branded TALIYA, for which agreements were concluded for technical knowledge transfer and equipment provision with the world’s best telecom brands, including Tele2 of Sweden and Siemens of Germany. TALIYA Network was put to operation in 2005, coinciding with the anniversary day of Khorramshahr Liberation TALIYA was a 10-year BOT contract that was handed over in the early 2010s.

In 2014, subsequent to research and market investigation, and creating the required capabilities, the copper telecom factory was extended to enable the production of ABC power cable and network cable (LAN), such that in 2015, production of Aerial Bundle Cable, at a capacity of 9 thousand tons of a variety of Aerial Bundle different cables for power industry, and network cables (LAN), at a capacity of 4400 tons of a variety of network cables for the IT industry, were made possible.
